Amanda Hillier

designer, illustrator and printmaker

Amanda is a designer, illustrator and printmaker and her aim is to bring an illustrative flair to the projects she is involved in. She specialises in natural themes along with an interest in architectural and industrial history –she works with traditional methods such as lino printing, watercolour and pen & ink, then combine these elements into a contemporary format.

Amanda makes these lanterns herself by hand. She prints her artwork digitally onto lotke handmade paper and then little windows and details are cut into the design. Finally they are matt laminated for strength and rigidity. The lanterns feature her landscape inspired lino prints which characterise the wildlife and architecture of Shropshire.
