I've worked as a Microbiologist, NHS Senior Manager, IT Consultant and as a Commercial Photographer. Now more-or-less retired, over recent years I have been enjoying the opportunity to do more nature (mainly invertebrates) and still-life photography.
On three occasions, I’ve had nature images Highly Commended in the British Wildlife Photography Awards. With still-life, I have been developing a "painting with light" technique that involves photographing each element of a composition separately (or sometimes each part of each element). I use diffused torchlight for this. The individual components (sometimes twenty or more) are then blended together to form the final image. Recently; I had my first solo exhibition of still-life photography.
